FINESCALEBRASS TERMS & CONDITIONS

These terms and conditions are applicable to all customers using the FineScaleBrass website. Please read carefully and understand them before purchasing items from this website.


Mainland UK orders

Postal charges are as follows:

All stock items to a value of £200 are dispatched by insured parcel, on an overnight courier free of charge. All orders below that value will be charged postage and packing as show on the item page.

Any returned items will be at your own cost and require authorization from ourselves before a return is made.

Payment

We accept payment by cheque, cash or credit card, when making payment by credit card, we require the credit card holders' name, home address, card number, security number and expiry date.. We accept the following credit cards:

MasterCard, Visa and Maestro. Currently we cannot accept Diners Club or American Express.

For security purposes we accept credit card orders by telephone or fax, we do not recommend emailing these details.

We can also accept payment by cheque from a British bank or building society and Sterling cash, however we will not despatch your goods until your cheque has cleared which can take up to 7 days. All deposits should be made by cheque or cash.

Our terms of payment are

Stock items - payment before dispatch

Commissioned items - payment for loco with order, balance before dispatch.

The service we offer for painting and finishing are regarded as special commissions. This service extends the delivery of the model and although we make every effort to forecast a realistic delivery date, items outside our control including painter's work load, name plates and control systems mean that this is only an indication and cannot be regarded as a primary part of any contract.. We are happy to assist in defining a particular livery and shed allocation, however we must stress that the model will be finished to your specification and as such it is your responsibility to ensure that all details are correct

New Models

New models are subject to sufficient orders being received and factory production, a contract is not formed until a deposit is paid, we accept no claim or liability if a project is cancelled.

Export Orders

Our terms and conditions for export orders are as follows.

Within the European Community

Value Added Tax (V.A.T.) will only be deducted from sales made to customers who are V.A.T. registered in their own countries. Orders from customers who are V.A.T. registered must clearly show their V.A.T. number. Without a V.A.T. number, we cannot deduct V.A.T.

Outside the European Community

We will automatically deduct V.A.T. from all orders exported to countries outside the European Community.

Postage will be at cost for these orders, in addition to the prices quoted, we only use insured parcels through recognised international carriers.

Payment

All orders to be exported from the U.K., must be paid for in advance. To allow us to correctly deduct V.A.T. and charge postage at cost, we prefer payment by credit card. We require the credit card holders' name, home address, card number, security number and expiry date. We accept the following credit cards:

Enquiries

All export enquiries should be made by email. We do not dispatch other than to the UK, USA, Canada, Australia & mainland Europe.

Due to USA import restrictions we cannot accept responsibility for items shipped with batteries fitted in them as part of our radio control service, import is entirely at the buyers risk.

Fully Finished Services Warranty

All locomotives come with a 12 month factory warranty, from date of despatch, against faulty workmanship. This guarantee extends to reasonable use in a personal environment, using recognised oiling and maintenance procedures and rests with the original owner. Subsequent sale will result in the termination of this warranty, unless the original invoice is produced. The warranty does not cover wear and tear on fully finished models.

Freedom of Information

To assist in order history we keep details of all our customer orders, we also add new customers to our contact list for details of new products and special offers. We do not share our information with any other Companies. We do not keep credit card details on file.
